Details: The Aleinu Network, a department of Jewish Family & Children's Service, will host a free seminar titled "Could You Be Parenting an Anxious Child?" Dr. Jennifer O'Connor will discuss how to identify signs and symptoms of anxiety in children and how to manage it as a parent; what type of help is available and when to seek it; and the specific relationship between anxiety and obsessive compulsive behaviors and how it can affect an observant family. Dr. Holly Asher Drinen will discuss the impact of anxiety symptoms on a child's ability to learn and retain information; performance anxiety, testing anxiety and social anxieties; and how to talk to teachers about anxiety and anxiety management in the classroom.
