Serving the Jewish community has been an important part of JFCS programming for more than 85 years. Our services support members of the Jewish community of all ages and from all walks of life, offering help to overcome life’s challenges, so families and individuals can enjoy more fulfilling lives.

Services include community outreach and education, adult programs, emergency financial assistance, behavioral health services, hospital chaplaincy, Holocaust survivor services and holiday programming. All vital social services that offer support and strength to the Jewish community.

Supported by the Jewish Federation of Greater Phoenix and the Jewish Community Foundation of Greater Phoenix, Helping Hands offers short-term financial assistance to those struggling to make ends meet. A lifeline to those unable to meet their rent or mortgage payments, Helping Hands also offers grocery gift cards so no one has to make the decision between paying rent and putting food on the table.

Layoffs and business closures have also meant an increase in unemployment and individuals looking for help securing their next job.

The JFCS Career Services team includes professional career coaches ready to assist with resume writing, networking and interview preparation. Having the tools to make yourself look employable is the first step to securing meaningful employment. These services are available to individuals who have recently lost their job or have been unemployed for up to two years. The team also assists the underemployed, who are defined as those who are employed, but are underpaid and/or may not be working up to their potential.

Unlike other workforce connection programs that work with thousands of individuals as a time, JFCS Career Services is easily accessible and offers personal, one-on-one attention with a customized plan to become savvy in today’s competitive job market.

We know that looking for a job can be a full-time endeavor and when you have concerns about your basic needs, it can be distracting. But when your needs are met, it’s a big relief. We also know that being unemployed can take a toll on your self-confidence, so we offer counseling services on a sliding scale to ensure everyone who needs behavioral health services has access to them.

JFCS is a lifeline for many in the Jewish community. If you need assistance, please call (602) 452-4627 for more information. If you would like to help others who may be struggling, please consider making a financial donation designated for Jewish Community Services so we can continue to assist those who may have lost their job, endured illness, suffered a loss, or had other unexpected financial hardship.
