At JFCS, we’re about “Healing Lives. Whatever It Takes.” Through this work, we impact thousands of individuals across the Valley. Of course, none of this would be possible without our amazing staff members who do the rewarding work of providing behavioral health, healthcare and social services to individuals of all ages, faiths and backgrounds.

To celebrate our staff’s contributions, we’re introducing you to three of our team members who help to strengthen our community through their compassionate service day in and out.

Demecia Pisano, Behavioral Health Clinician IV, JFCS East Valley Healthcare Center

Demecia Pisano is a licensed master social worker (LMSW) who provides therapy services to children and their families in community mental health.

“I work to offer coping skills and tools to help clients to be happy, healthy and successful, whatever that may look like to them,” she explains. “I think it is important to note that while working to create a sense of empowerment in clients, the power is not ours to give but rather helping them to recognize what is already inside of them.”

A JFCS employee since fall 2020, Demecia shares that she truly values the support and dedication of her fellow team members. “Everyone here seems to be working together to help our community in the most effective and empathetic ways possible,” she says.

When not at work, she has two pets – a dog and a cat – who she loves spending time with. She also loves music, collects vinyl records, and you can often find her hiking or going to markets and festivals across the Valley.

Jessica Levin Bozek, Director of the Older Adult Behavioral Health and Aleinu Program Coordinator LPC

When asked about her favorite part of working at JFCS, Jessica Levin Bozek, Director of the Older Adult Behavioral Health, says, “Making a difference in the community and helping people that truly need the support.”

“It is so gratifying to be able to get feedback from our clients that they don’t feel alone with our help and support,” she adds.

As the director of JFCS’ Older Adult Behavioral Health program, she supports a team of clinicians and is also an in-home clinician for older adults with mental health as well as chronic health conditions.

“As therapists we go in home and not only make sure the basic needs are met but that they can get additional services to provide help and support for their daily living,” she explains.

An Arizona native, Jessica has worked for JFCS for almost a decade and has a private practice. “I’m also a mother of two amazing daughters, have a wonderful spouse and two golden doodles,” she adds. “I try to practice what I preach and maintain self-care through family, friends, traveling and working out.”

Wendy Brishke, Director of the Michael R. Zent Healthcare Center

In her director role, Wendy Brishke manages a team of medical and mental health professionals that work with a diverse group of clients providing integrated care in the Maryvale area.

“One of my favorite things about working at JFCS is the genuine concern we have for the people we serve,” she explains.

Outside of work, Wendy loves to travel around the globe and is planning a trip to Egypt for 2025.

“Closer to home I spend my time with family and friends and my two golden retriever therapy dogs, Dazzle and Charm,” she adds.

Fun fact: one of her dogs was a paid animal actor and even had an agent!
