"Hester Street" is set in 1896 where Yankel Bogovnik, a Russian Jew, has settled on the Lower East Side of New York City. He has assimilated to American life, and when his wife Gitl arrives from Russia, he sees they have more differences than ever before. Featuring Carol Kane and Stephen Keats.
