Creative Aging - Story Telling (Sun City)

About This Event

  • Event Type:Classes
Details:

Do you want to share your family history with the next generation? Do you love regaling people with the hilarious mistakes you've made? Have you always wanted to tell a story at the Moth but can't seem to get your act together? Then Storytelling is right for you. We use low-resistance exercises to explore imagery from our lives, and use the best practices of story-crafting to elevate them into capital "S" stories. We employ facilitated and supportive feedback to be sure we are telling the story we mean to tell. And we learn performance skills and techniques to enhance our storytelling. Instructor Kim Porter has been coaching storytellers for 25 years. A writer/performer herself, Kim as been published in Reader's Digest and was nominated for a Pushcart Prize in 2017. She was voted Best Storytelling in Phoenix in 2015 by Phoenix New Times.
