EXPLORE- In this 45-minute weekly class, we will learn about prominent flamenco dancers and history through film, photography, dance, and discussions. Participants are invited to explore the deep roots of flamenco.
MOVEMENT- Participants will learn basic flamenco movement and rhythm techniques that will be modified for both sitting and standing participation. No previous dance experience required.
STORYTELLING- Using the TimeSlips method, together we will create stories by studying flamenco paintings and photography.
FILM/VIDEO- Flamenco has been documented for many years in full-length dramas, documentaries, cameos and of course, YouTube. We will deepen the appreciation of Flamenco through viewing and discussing flamenco in film and media.
