Purpose

Founded in 2017, Jewish Family and Children’s Service (JFCS) Professional Leadership Group provides leaders and emerging leaders the opportunity to make a difference in their community by becoming JFCS ambassadors and philanthropists. Bringing together philanthropic-minded individuals, ages 27-45, that have a passion for social service, participants will get an in-depth look at the role JFCS plays to help the most vulnerable members of our community. The multi-month program (usually spanning 2-3 months depending on time of year and scheduling) offers participants engaging and practical leadership training, networking, mentorship, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact in the community through the completion of a group philanthropic project.

Participant Benefits

  • Increased knowledge of the social service & healthcare needs in our community
  • Practical leadership lessons from distinguished professionals in the community
  • Opportunity for mentorship and/or coaching
  • Completion of a philanthropic group project that will transform lives of JFCS clients
  • Networking with a cohort of distinguished professionals, JFCS board members & community members
  • Invitations to the Brighter Tomorrow Luncheon & Family Friends of Distinction donor events

Participant Expectations

Commit to a financial pledge of $1,800 over one year to support JFCS’s mission of strengthening the community by providing behavioral health, healthcare and social services to all ages, faiths and backgrounds. The Arizona Charitable Tax Credit may be used as part of this commitment and gifts from third parties (like your employer) count toward the commitment as well. Commit to attending at least 5 sessions over the course of the program.

Schedule

We are still finalizing the schedule for our next cohort which is likely to begin in early 2023. If you want to be the first to know when the program schedule is finalized, please email Jonathan Levin at jonathan.levin@jfcsaz.org.
