The Two Souls of Cesar Chavez
Presented by New Carpa Theatre Company
Cesar Chavez was one of the most influential civil rights activists in American history. In 1962, Chavez and Dolores Huerta co-founded what eventually became the United Farm Workers’ Union (UFW). "The Two Souls of Cesar Chavez" imagines the final night of Chavez's life as he takes stock of his role in the fight for civil rights. The celebrated farm labor organizer died in his sleep at the home of a family friend near his birthplace in southern Arizona on April 23, 1993, at age 66.
